Six weeks of reading lab offered – June 10-14, June 17-21, June 24-28 and July 8-12, July 15-19, July 22-26. Three 45-minute sessions to choose from - 9-9:45am, 10-10:45am, or 11-11:45am. Limited to 6 (or 7) students per session. Cost: ($150.00 per week)
Welcome to our 20th summer at Theraplay!
The office is conveniently located at the corner of Harvest Hill and Dallas North Tollway. All camps are designed to therapeutically address motor, academic and psychosocial skills at low ratios. All camps are all led by graduate degreed occupational therapists.

HANDWRITING CAMPS The Handwriting Without Tears curriculum is utilized as a guide for all camps based on skill level. Each camp additionally focuses on developing fine motor skills, strength and endurance and pencil grasp remediation. Activities are sent home to ensure continued success. All camps are a 7:1 student to therapist ratio. Additional support staff is present as well. Handwriting 1: For beginning handwriting students and entering PreK. This camp focuses on writing and coloring endurance, scissor skills, letter identification, and uppercase letter and number formations. Handwriting 2: Great for students entering Kindergarten. In this camp uppercase letters are reviewed but the main focus is to introduce lowercase letter formations. Students will also work to strengthen fine motor skills for their success within the classroom. Handwriting 3: Entering 1st or 2nd grade. Camp focuses on lowercase letter formations, line placement, proper sentence structure, & self-editing skills. This group is for students that have been exposed to lowercase letter formations or those that may benefit from remedial help. Cursive Camp: Great for students who are beginning cursive or struggling with cursive. Cursive letter identification, letter formations/connections, and sentence structure are the focus of this camp. Incorporation of age-appropriate classroom organizational strategies is also included. THE CURSIVE CAMP IS ONLY OFFERED DURING AUGUST SESSIONS.
ACADEMIC READINESS CAMPS For students who benefit from a small, socially structured academic group setting. This camp will focus on classroom skills that will enable students to function more independently within the contexts of classroom and recess environments. Goal areas include: interaction skills, following directions, fine and gross motor skills, transitions and other foundational academic areas. Academic 1 is for students having completed PreK or Kinder and Academic 2 is for students entering 1st grade or 2nd grade.
LUNCH BUNCH Lunch Bunch is designed for children participating in both morning and afternoon camps at Theraplay. From 12:00- 1:00pm Monday thru Thursday of camp weeks, children will receive a rotation of ChikfilA and Cheese pizza, fruit, drink and dessert. They will have supervised free play and the option to watch a “G” movie after lunch is over until their next camp begins.
